Dangers of Water in Your Home

7/18/2019 (Permalink)

Has it ever rained so much that when you went to check on your sump pump you noticed it was not keeping up, and there was water coming into your home? Having water get into your home is a devastation alone. Recently, there was a home that got enough water to reach up to the electrical paneling. The water caused the electrical box to explode. The entire back of the home was engulfed in flames within seconds. Everyone was able to escape without injury, but they were thinking, “What could we have done to prevent this?”.

If you ever notice there is water in your home, identify the source of the water. If it is coming from a pipe or appliance you can turn off the water in your home. If the water is coming from an outside source you cannot control, such as a flood, you will have to turn off the electricity to your home. The water damage to the home was terrible, but the fire was detrimental.
